MICRODERMABRASION

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a mechanical exfoliation, a progressive non-invasive treatment that propels natural mineral crystals onto the surface of the skin and vacuums dead skin and impurities. It means the process of scraping away top layer of the skin. This action helps to stimulate microcirculation, increasing the blood supply to regenerate the skin. It also stimulates formation of new collagen and elastin to improve skin texture and elasticity.

This process reveals newer, healthier, younger skin. The procedure is painless, with literally no recovery time for most people. Microdermabrasion has been successful in dramatically reducing the appearance of small scars, large pores, hyper pigmented spots, fine lines, stretch marks, wrinkles, comedones. Due to its ability to enhance the growth of collagen and elastin the appearance of the skin can take on a much lighter, firmer appearance.

How Does Microdermabrasion work?

Microdermabrasion works in two ways:

  1. Correction – the speed of the action that gently removes the surface layers of the skin, allowing smoother, fresher skin to emerge;
  2. Stimulation – the vacuum action helps to stimulate microcirculation, increasing the blood supply that provides nutrients needed for skin regeneration.

The skin is cleansed before and after the procedure.  Due to the unavoidable spread of crystals in the hair and possibly the clothes, it is strongly recommended that the client shower before retiring that evening.

While these crystals are not a known allergen, the possibility of an irritation always exists due to the individuality of each client.

The resurfacing treatment is executed slowly and progressively, removing only superficial layers of the epidermis to reveal a youthful complexion and glow. A skin therapist has total control and works under The Strictest Hygiene Standards, using sterile, disposable treatment nozzles to ensure patient’s safety. After treatment a patient can resume his normal activities almost immediately.

Because the skin, after the treatment, has no natural protection, it is necessary to use neutral PH moisturizers and to wear a protective sun screen. Failure to wear sun screen can result in a severe sunburn on your face, and skin damage could occur.

For most skin disorders, a minimum of six treatments is recommended. Results can be seen in both the texture and the appearance of the skin after one session, but with maintenance sessions, will result in better skin quality and may postpone the first lifting treatments for some years.

Microdermabrasion can combine with other anti-aging treatments, and it can be performed on the any parts of the body if necessity.

It is necessary to use moisturizers according to your skin type and to wear a protective sun screen.

Microdermabrasion is a popular skincare treatment that has gained significant attention in the beauty and dermatology industry. This non-invasive procedure, known for its simplicity and effectiveness, offers a multitude of benefits for various skin types and concerns. It’s particularly renowned for its ability to rejuvenate the skin, making it a preferred choice for those seeking a quick yet effective way to improve their skin’s appearance.

Understanding Microdermabrasion’s Appeal

Microdermabrasion’s appeal lies in its versatility and safety. It’s a suitable option for most skin types and can address a range of skin concerns. This treatment gently exfoliates the skin, removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells. The process is not just about superficial cleansing; it goes deeper to enhance the skin’s overall health and appearance. Microdermabrasion reveals the fresher, younger skin beneath by removing these dead cells. It’s a perfect solution for those looking to brighten their complexion without undergoing more invasive procedures.

The Science Behind Microdermabrasion

The science of microdermabrasion is fascinating. It uses a specialized device that gently sands the skin, removing the thicker, uneven outer layer. This type of skin rejuvenation is used to treat light scarring, discoloration, sun damage, and stretch marks. What makes microdermabrasion stand out is its ability to stimulate the production of skin cells and collagen, giving the skin a more youthful and radiant look.

Benefits of Microdermabrasion

  1. Improves Skin Tone and Texture: Regular microdermabrasion sessions can significantly improve the tone and texture of your skin. It helps in reducing the appearance of fine lines, early sun damage, and minor, shallow acne marks. Skin appears softer, smoother, and fresher.
  2. Reduces Hyperpigmentation: Microdermabrasion is effective in reducing age spots and dark patches caused by hyperpigmentation. The treatment promotes an even skin tone by removing the damaged outer layer of the skin.
  3. Acne and Acne Scars: For those struggling with mild acne or acne scars, microdermabrasion can help in clearing the skin. Unclogging pores and clearing the surface of the skin reduces the severity of breakouts and helps in fading minor scars over time.
  4. Enhances Product Efficacy: By removing the dead surface layers of the skin, microdermabrasion allows skincare products to penetrate more deeply and effectively, enhancing their efficacy.
  5. Safe for Most Skin Types: Given its non-invasive nature, microdermabrasion is safe for almost all skin types and colors.

Customization and Personalization in Microdermabrasion

One of the key aspects of microdermabrasion is its ability to be tailored to individual skin types and concerns. Your skincare professional can adjust the intensity of the treatment to suit your specific needs. Whether it’s combating signs of aging or hyperpigmentation or simply giving your skin a refreshed and revitalized look, microdermabrasion can be customized accordingly.

Microdermabrasion and Long-Term Skin Health

Incorporating microdermabrasion into your regular skincare routine can have long-term benefits. It’s not only about addressing current skin concerns but also about preventing future skin issues. Regular treatments can help maintain skin health, keeping it looking vibrant and youthful.

Combining Microdermabrasion with Other Treatments

For even more dramatic results, microdermabrasion can be combined with other skin treatments. For instance, following up microdermabrasion with a hydrating facial can deeply nourish the freshly exfoliated skin, leaving it glowing and radiant. However, it’s essential to consult with a skincare professional before combining treatments to ensure they are compatible with your skin type.

Minimizing Enlarged Pores: This service can be particularly effective for those with enlarged pores. Exfoliating the top layer of skin and unclogging pores helps reduce the appearance of pores, making them less noticeable and giving the skin a smoother, more refined look.

Boosting Circulation and Lymphatic Drainage: Beyond its surface effects, it can also boost blood circulation and lymphatic drainage. This enhanced circulation ensures better oxygen and nutrient supply to the skin cells, leading to improved skin health and contributing to the internal repair and renewal processes of the skin.

Customizable Treatment for All Skin Types: Microdermabrasion’s versatility extends to its suitability for all skin types. Whether you have sensitive, oily, dry, or combination skin, the intensity of microdermabrasion can be adjusted to suit your unique skin type and concerns, ensuring a personalized and effective treatment.

Ideal for Aging Skin: As we age, our skin’s natural ability to shed dead skin cells diminishes. It helps in accelerating this process, revealing the younger, healthier skin underneath. It’s an excellent treatment for those looking to combat the signs of aging without resorting to more invasive procedures.

Enhancing Skin Hydration: By removing dead skin cells, microdermabrasion allows for better absorption of hydrating skincare products. Post-treatment, when hydrating serums or moisturizers are applied, they penetrate deeper into the skin, providing enhanced hydration and nourishment.

Minimal Downtime and Immediate Results: One of the most appealing aspects of this service is its minimal downtime. Unlike other more invasive skin treatments, you can return to your daily routine immediately after a session. The results are often immediate, with many clients noticing smoother, brighter skin right after the treatment.

Long-Term Effects of Regular Treatments: For those seeking long-term improvements in skin health and appearance, regular microdermabrasion sessions are key. Consistent treatments can lead to significant improvements in skin texture, tone, and overall appearance over time.

Safety and Efficacy: It is known for its safety and efficacy. It’s a low-risk treatment with a high satisfaction rate among clients. The procedure is non-invasive, involves minimal risk, and is a safe option for most people.

Post-Treatment Care: After a session, it’s crucial to take proper care of your skin. This includes using gentle skincare products, avoiding direct sun exposure, and applying sunscreen regularly. These steps help ensure the best possible results and protect the skin as it heals and rejuvenates.

Microdermabrasion stands out as a remarkably effective, safe, and versatile treatment in the realm of skincare. It’s an excellent choice for those looking to maintain youthful, healthy skin without undergoing more intensive procedures. By choosing microdermabrasion at Nell Laser Clinic, you’re not just investing in immediate results but also in the long-term health and beauty of your skin.
